The VTV-1221 is a high-performance video processor for 4K (3840-by-2160) and 3D application. The part up-converts standard-definition and high-definition 2D video up to 4K resolution and up-converts 3D video from legacy HDMI 1.3 source devices up to 1080p.

The VTV-1221 delivers the sharpest video output possible thanks to its edge-enhancing scaling engine. A built-in CPU running the HDMI stacks simplifies system design by off-loading the host from complex real-time tasks. In addition, an integrated high-resolution character- and icon-based on-screen display (OSD) facilitate the design of eye-catching user interfaces.

The VTV-1221 was designed from the ground-up as a single chip solution for optimal power efficiency and system cost-effectiveness. The part integrates an HDMI 1.4a 4K/3D compliant receiver, EDID memory, CEC interface, field-scaling based de-interlacing, advanced 4K scaler, OSD and HDMI 1.4a 4K/3D compliant transmitter for cost-effective applications. HDCP 1.4 encryption and decryption engines are integrated along with pre-programmed HDCP keys to provide a high level of security and reduce manufacturing cost and complexity.

The VTV-1221 is the perfect solution to quickly enable Audio/Video Receivers to up-convert HD content to 4K resolutions.
