We are looking for a top notch chip architect to lead the development of chip architectures at our Santa Clara head quarters. As the chip architect you will lead the architecture development and contribute to product definition, design, and bring-up, while making tradeoffs to balance market requirements, software and hardware complexity, cost, power, and schedule. You will provide technical direction and leadership on innovative product definition and specification through active participation in modeling, design, and verification.

Qualifications

• Work with marketing, product engineering and system architect to understand market requirements, define chip architecture meeting product requirements and develop corresponding project plan.
• Investigate and analyze different SoC architecture solutions to optimize cost, power, performance, testability and reliability.
• Develop chip specification with detailed block diagram, bus structure, clock/reset, interface protocol/timing, power control, concurrent operations, power management, performance metrics, system configurations and operation modes.
• Develop architecture models for performance analysis and to enable chip verification efforts in conjunction with Marseille Networks virtual silicon platform and methodology.
• Work with design, verification, implementation and validation teams to develop pre-silicon verification/validation and post-silicon validation plans.
• Define and develop SoC performance benchmark, profiling, and optimization.
• Work with SW team to define and support development of drivers and firmware.

Skills

• Demonstrated leadership and proven track record in leading chip architecture development resulting in successful chip tape outs.
• Experience required with analyzing systems and software requirements, and delivering chip architecture specs as well as C models.

Education

MS or higher degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree with 12+ years of relevant experience in chip architecture.
